If you’re wondering what to order at The Boat Shed Cafe & Bistro, our Chorizo Scramble has become one of those dishes people talk about long after the plates are cleared.
Rich, savoury, a little smoky, and built with just the right amount of punch, it’s one of the most iconic dishes on our brunch menu. For many of our regulars, it’s not even a question. They already know what they’re getting.
Set against the lakefront at Frankton Marina, with coffee on the table and Lake Wakatipu just beyond, it’s the kind of breakfast that feels like a proper Queenstown moment.
What’s in The Boat Shed Cafe's Chorizo Scramble?
Our Chorizo Scramble is made with pork sausage chorizo, soft scrambled eggs, crispy agria potatoes, whipped feta, sweetcorn salsa verde, and chipotle mayo.
It’s a dish that covers all bases. You’ve got richness from the eggs and feta, crisp golden potatoes for texture, smoky chorizo bringing depth, and then the sweetcorn salsa verde and chipotle mayo cutting through with brightness and warmth.
It’s bold, satisfying, and full of contrast in all the right ways.
Why people love it
Some dishes are good on paper. Others are the ones that diners come back for again and again.
The Chorizo Scramble sits firmly in the second category. It’s generous, packed with flavour, and manages to feel both comforting and exciting at the same time. Perfect for slow brunches, long catch-ups, or those mornings when only something seriously good will do.
One guest put it better than we ever could:
“Boatshed Coffee is like finding a treasure chest at the end of a caffeine rainbow. I dived into the Cilibir Eggs and Chorizo Scramble, and let me tell you, my taste buds did a happy dance. These dishes were so delicious that I briefly considered proposing to the chef.” — Hazel
We can’t promise a proposal, but we can promise a very good breakfast.
